Dr. Elaine Cannell is a visiting assistant professor in Gender and Women’s Studies. Her interdisciplinary research examines the cultural histories of liberatory activism in the United States and abroad, with particular interest in the mutual influences between performance art, drama, and social movement organizing. Dr. Cannell teaches courses in queer and feminist theory, twentieth and twenty-first century literature, and popular culture and performance.
