When and why did you choose LGBTQ+ Studies?Dylan Witte - LGBTQ+ Studies student spotlight

I started my certificate in LGBTQ+ Studies in the Spring of 2019 and I initially started it because I wanted to learn more about the history of this complex community, and in turn, get a better understanding of the community as a whole.

Has your coursework in LGBTQ+ Studies changed your approach to your involvement (on or off campus) during college?

My course work has helped to widen my view of the world and has led me to try and work for different organizations than I would have previously been interested in.

How have your courses in LGBTQ+ shaped your plans for the future?

My participation in this area has completely changed my future plans. I am currently looking into graduate programs that center around this topic and am hoping to continue delving into topics related to the LGBTQ+ community and how this community is affected by both interior and exterior factors.
