
The Center for Research on Gender and Women in the Department of Gender and Women’s Studies is excited to invite students to the first Spring talk in its 2025-26 De Cleene GWS Student Leadership Series!
Jeanne Duffy, the Executive Director of the Wisconsin Women’s Council, will be giving the talk “Women In Elected Office in Wisconsin” that presents findings based on her newly completed study. This talk is meant to generate discussion about gender, leadership, and student leadership development with the speaker and amongst peers as a pizza lunch is also included!
The De Cleene Student Leadership Series is a multi-pronged series that includes:
- facilitated workshops by professionals
- mentoring opportunities
- a speaker series
- a student collective
This series supports student leadership development through discussion and application of topics such as creating networks, motivational skills, barriers to success, approaches to communication, and other leadership training. The De Cleene Leadership Forum is dedicated to leadership development, research, and advocacy on behalf of gender equity, as well as to the promotion of leadership locally, nationally and globally.
