GWS Alum is the Writer in the Room at Hallmark

Melvina Young has taken her experience in gender and women’s studies, women’s history, and African-American Studies classrooms and has developed a line of greeting cards as a senior writer at Hallmark.  Melvina describes what she does “is more than just writing cards; it’s connecting people on an emotional level that is culturally authentic and empowering.” Read more on Melvina Young’s work here and in the Summer 2019 issue of On Wisconsin.

Melvina Young, Class of ’90, ’92, and ’06, double-majored in Gender & Women’s Studies and Afro-American studies, earned her Master’s Degree in African-American Studies, and her PhD in Women’s History.
