Professor Sami Schalk has received a Chancellor’s Distinguished Teaching Award for Inclusive Excellence, which “celebrates exemplary achievements in teaching that honor the university’s value of diversity and inclusion as the path to excellence.”
“Her full courses with extensive waitlists make clear that in the short time she has worked at UW, Dr. Schalk has made a name for herself as an engaging and impactful teacher. Her classes address issues of gender, race, disability, and sexuality in contemporary American media, literature, and culture. We are proud to have her as our colleague.”
-Dr. Janet Hyde, Chair of the Gender and Women’s Studies Department
Congratulations, Sami, on this incredible accomplishment!
