Rachel Litchman Wins L&S Ginsberg Family Award

Rachel Litchman, Student Spotlight, next to the Red Gym on campusGender & Women’s Studies Undergraduate student, Rachel Litchman, has been honored with the UW-Madison, College of Letters & Sciences Ginsberg Family Award. This award, formerly the Meyerhoff Undergraduate Excellence Awards for Leadership, Service and Scholarship,  recognized students who have made outstanding leadership and service contributions to the University and/or the surrounding communities while maintaining a record of academic excellence. Beginning in 2018 the Ginsberg Family Awards continued this tradition of recognizing outstanding student leaders in honor of the late Dean of Students Paul Ginsberg (Dean of Students from 1970-1987) in recognition of his profound impact on the campus community.

To win the award, students must be juniors or seniors currently enrolled at UW–Madison, have an excellent academic record, and serve as leaders in the community. Rachel’s work with the Dane County Youth Action Board, addressing youth homelessness in Dane County made her an excellent candidate for the award. You can read more about Rachel’s academic work, goals, and work in the community in our September 2021 Student Spotlight.

Congratulations Rachel!
