Fill the Hill 2022

Plastic Flamingo wearing a cone shaped birthday hat

This year, in the Department of Gender and Women’s Studies (GWS), our goal is to make unpaid research, professional travel, and internship opportunities more accessible to our students. We are raising funds to provide GWS and LGBTQ+ studies students with financial support to participate in these kinds of professional development opportunities. Our students benefit immeasurably from their time learning from and with community organizations, leaders, and mentors, and there is often a financial cost to participating in these vital professional development opportunities. We are committed to making professional development opportunities equitable for our students, and your support enables us to offer these enrichment experiences for students and support for faculty.

Get ready for the 10th annual day of giving and goofiness! Starting at 5 p.m. on October 20, Badgers and friends around the world will fill Bascom Hill with pink lawn flamingos. For 24 hours, every gift the UW receives will add one flamingo to our fabulous flock. Join the celebration and help support the life-changing power of a UW education!
