Spring Internship Projects in GWS

This spring, the GWS internship course went online. Students did fantastic work for Madison-based organizations like End Domestic Abuse Wisconsin, Legal Action of Wisconsin, Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin, the Wisconsin Women’s Network, and the Office of the Internship in Gender and Women's Studies on a blue background with streamers.Gender and Women’s Studies Librarian. Madelyn Adler, an intern with the Wisconsin Women’s Network, developed a compelling visualization of the data she collected for her end-of-semester project: “The Economic Impact of COVID-19 on Single Mothers.” Teresa Yen worked with the Office of the Gender and Women’s Studies Librarian. Yen promoted the GWSL’s social media accounts and published a new bibiography: “Ballroom Culture, Drag, and Queer Dance.” All of the 660 students: Madelyn Adler, Rebecca Anderson, Chloe Day, Haylee Hess, and Hailey Jaschob, and Teresa Yen, navigated remote work with grace during a challenging year. We are proud of their accomplishments and so glad we were able to keep GWS 660 going this year.
