- Why did you choose GWS?
When I was a freshman, I took the introductory GWS 101 course and it got me so fired up by every new fact I learned and article I read. As I got deeper into the classes, I really appreciated the interconnectedness. Feminist theory felt like a way of understanding the world that could be so loving and powerful. I love learning about every intersection within feminist theory and applying it as much as I can in my life everyday. - Has GWS changed your approach to your involvement (on or off campus) during college? If so, how?
GWS has encouraged me to get out of my comfort zone. It encouraged me to try new arts and volunteer in environments I have never been in before. It also helped strengthen some of my core values like reciprocity and gratitude. The biggest thing it has done is encourage me to declare an Environmental Studies degree, largely because they are so interconnected, environmental rights are reproductive rights are queer rights and so on. - How has GWS shaped your future plans?
Although my future is still unplanned, GWS has fully transformed how I’ve wanted to frame my future. It has fully transformed my dreams into endless possibilities of ecofeminism and potentially pursue graduate school to continue to learn and collaborate with others.
