Assistant Professor of GWS and Asian American Studies James McMaster has been recognized as a Spring 2020 Honored Instructor.
Honored Instructors is a student-initiated program in University Housing that encourages students to recognize instructors that have made an impact on their learning. Every semester, students in University Housing are invited to nominate teachers who inspire them.
Professor McMaster makes the difficult material we discuss in this class accessible and easily understandable for anyone. He’s inspiring with the way he teaches and conducts class and is extremely understanding of his students’ lives and other commitments. He always makes discussions respectful and fun to participate in. As an Asian American student myself, being in his class has given me the vocabulary to voice what I am feeling, and realize that I am not the only one feeling these things. I will always recommend his classes!
